Wildfire
A wildfire is an uncontrolled fire that burns in natural areas such as forests, grasslands, or prairies. These fires can occur due to natural causes like lightning strikes or human activities, including accidental ignitions or arson. Wildfires can spread rapidly, fueled by dry vegetation, winds, and favorable weather conditions. They can lead to significant destruction of ecosystems, property, and wildlife habitats, and pose threats to human life and health. Efforts to manage and control wildfires include fire suppression tactics, such as creating firebreaks, burning out unburned areas to control spread, and using aerial water drops. Wildfires also play a natural role in many ecosystems, promoting biodiversity and helping some plant species to germinate. However, the increasing frequency and intensity of wildfires are often linked to climate change and human land-use practices.
